Sunday evening we went to my parents house. Ron had a meeting in Bloomington on Monday afternoon and so we decided we would all go as far as Van Buren so we could see Pap and Grandma.
This picture was taken Monday morning as Pap was trying to get Grandma up to go to her chemo treatment. For some reason she was a little slow getting around this time - I can't imagine why!
I haven't updated on my mom in awhile. She is doing well. Only 3 more treatments. She has handled things pretty well. She has been going (for 3 days) after treatment for a "booster" shot to keep her white blood cell count high enough to continue treatment, but they seem to be working and she is still on tract to be done the week after the 4th. Praise the Lord she has not been "sick" and has remained relatively healthy. She has been very tired some days and wears out early other days, but for the most part she has done well. There are other things that we, as her family, notice, but we are all very pleased with how well she is doing. The doctors have told her that she will not need radiation now and so we are all looking forward to putting this chapter of treatment behind us.
The boys and Pap were tired after a long hot day.
Maddie climbed up on Grandma's lap for some snuggle time.

While Mom and Dad were gone for mom's treatment, our friends Connie and Anna came to play. Anna is about 6 months older than Maddie. They are still learning how to play together, although they did much better this time.
Anna, Eli and Maddie thought that three on the piano was a great idea.

We also celebrated Ronnie's birthday a few days early. He absolutely loved this cake that Pap and "Donnie Marsh" (Marsh is a grocery store that Dad has gotten pretty acquainted with while mom is out of the kitchen) picked out. This baseball cake was a great!
Pap and Grandma also got Ronnie 2 goldfish and the things he will need to care for them! Ronnie was so excited.
It took him a little while to figure out what he would name them. He finally settled on "Floater" and "Weaky". As it turns out, Weaky didn't make it. He was flushed this afternoon after the 90 minute drive to his new home. Floater is still swimming though and hopefully will not live up to his name anytime soon.

LOL-I had to laugh at the fish names (well, and that you had to flush one of them already). Hope the kids handled it ok. Your mom looks GREAT!!! Glad things are going well and the end of this treatment is in sight! Thanks for keeping us updated!
