Tee Ball, Week Two

Today was week two of Tee Ball. The boys were excited. They wanted to play 1st Base and Pitcher (cause everybody knows that's where the action is)! The field was pretty wet, so the coaches decided to make a new field in the grass. These kids were too excited to call it rain out! Luckily we didn't get rained on during the practice or game.

Below the Adkins boys work together for an "easy out". They like working together on the baseball field. I wonder if I can take it home with me -hmmm:)

Nathaniel got up to bat twice and one of those hits was a line drive back at the coach who was standing up pitching to him. He nailed him right in the head. Nathaniel is the only one who likes to use the big heavy wooden bat. So they were saying he was "swinging a log" - he's such a strong little man. The coach is a former major league player, so he said he had been hit harder - I'm guessing it was not by a 5 year old though.
Ronnie had a couple of good hits today too. They both went over the infielders heads. His second time up to bat, he wanted everyone to go first. He wanted to be the last batter so that he could hit a grand slam. He did too! He nailed it father than it had been hit today and ran with all his might!

My cheering team got worn out pretty early today. It was hot and humid and just plain yuck! Notice Eli's shirt color. He wanted to make sure he was wearing the right color in case the team needed another player. That's my Eli, always thinking ahead!

So, 2 weeks down and 2 more to go! Next week we have lots of people coming to cheer on our team. Maybe I'll get some better pictures since I"ll have some help with my little cheer leaders!
