The Indians

We traveled this past Thursday to Ron parents. This picture of Maddie describes how all of us felt. We were all exhausted and needed a break from the norm!

We were all (perhaps excluding Maddie) pretty excited about the day. We had been given tickets to see the Indians play on Thursday evening. If you have read this blog often, you know we are sports fans. Well the Indians are "our team" and we were all SO excited to get to go to a "real game" as the boys called it. We even got to take Grandma and Grandpa with us! It was a nice treat for them too. They have had a rough winter and spring and this was the break we all needed!

We arrived before the gate opened so that we wouldn't miss a thing! We were allowed in just in time to see some batting practice.

The boys took it all in!

Maddie enjoyed the ride from Grandpa!

Then as we were watching, the boys were invited down to the field at a certain time to get some autographs! We were right on top of the Indians dugout.

So much fun to see what we have been watching all year on TV! So exciting for all of us! It was my first Major League game too, so I was pretty excited!

Even though Toronto was having their batting practice by the time we were down at field level, Ronnie still enjoyed watching those big guys hit as we waited to see who would be signing autographs.
They all 3 enjoyed it!

Finally Joe Smith (Pitcher) and Lou Marson (catcher) came out to sign autographs for everyone! Eli had one of his very rare, shy moments but the older 2 both got autographs!

After walking around the stadium for awhile, we went to our seats for the start of the game!

This was our view! While it was a little crazy at first, being so high up, the seats were fantastic. We had a great view and could see home plate perfectly!

These guys were pumped and ready for the game to start!

I'm so thankful that Grandma was with us to help me with the younger 2, they were asking questions about the end of the game before the 3rd inning! Although I do think they had fun!

This little man, our sports guy, was so excited! I can't even explain how excited he was!

Again, thankful for Grandma!

Grandpa and Ronnie hurry back to their seat after a quick break!

Honestly, it was not a very exciting game! our Indians didn't do so well. People began leaving in the 8th. The score was 4-0 and we had 0! I was so disappointed that they were loosing and the boys wouldn't even see one run scored. Then, in the bottom of the 9th, still 4-0, things started to change.

As Nathaniel describes it... "The bases were loaded, Cabrera hit a single to drive in a run, then Brantley struck out. Hafner was up next and hit a Grand Slam to win the game!"

What a game to see for our first ever Major League Game!

Smiles!

Cheers

(although I'm not sure if it was for the Grand Slam or the end of the game!)

Travis Hafner was the Hero!

It was a night we will not soon forget!

Truly a memory making evening!

We had such a wonderful time!
