A Proud Moment

I want to share one last Easter moment and how Proud I was/am of our boys (just humor me, it's only one more story from Easter Sunday).

Sunday mornings usually begin with me getting the boys up around 6:30. We eat breakfast together, as a family, at 7am and then I have a little over an hour to get 4 kids dressed, 5 beds made (the boys make theirs, I'm just on hand), and myself ready to walk out the door by 8:30.

So on Easter morning, the routine changed slightly. I got them up at 6 and gave them a granola bar and milk (cheerios and milk for sissy) to hold them over until breakfast at Ney church. Then we got ready and were at Ney by a little after 7am. The boys needed to run through their songs one last time and then the Son-rise Service began at 7:30.

For the Son-rise Service the boys had 3 songs. Our pianist, Barb, was in charge of the service and did a fantastic job. She is a very talented musician and she loves working with the kids too. So she did the story of the Two Trees (It was neat) and the kids sang, as well as some other songs (she even convinced me to sing, but that's another story). So the boys had been practicing their songs and did great. Below are the 6 who participated in the singing for the Son-rise Service.

Then we had breakfast at 8am. It was delicious and the boys loved the pancakes.

Next was our regular 9am Worship Service. Because it was the 1st Sunday of the month, and Family Worship, the kids had prepared a song and presentation for the service. During breakfast the Jr. Church teacher for the month ask Nathaniel if he would say his Bible Verse for the service. He agreed. Then she asked Ronnie if he would read a poem that they had used one week. He also agreed. Did you catch that - Ronnie agreed to stand in front of church, hold a microphone and talk into it. WOW, was this my Ronnie I heard say, "Sure". I was a little nervous, but we went with it.

So all the kids sang their Song - "He is Risen".

Then Nathaniel quoted his verse, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6. He did fantastic! (I had Maddie on my lap and didn't get a picture of Nathaniel)

Then the mic was handed to Ronnie. He read the Jelly Bean Poem and did a fantastic job! I was so proud of both of them.

After Ney, as we always do, we left for Farmer (only 6 miles down the road). They boys had another presentation. The kids were telling the Easter Story using the symbols of Easter (the Resurrection Eggs). Ronnie had the 3 silver coins and Nathaniel had the Nails. They both remembered their lines and did great! Then they had yet another song and Bible verse.

Eli sang the song with them and listened carefully as they went through the symbols.

So in case you missed it, I am so proud. There are a lot of kids who went to Church this past Sunday, but not many 7, 5 and 3 year olds could have gone from 7am to 12:30 (by the time we get home on Sundays) and remembered 4 songs, 2 different Bible Verses and read on top of being good. They did so well and Ron and I were both so proud.

We have talked before about how this Pastoral Role is a family role. We tell the boys that they are a part of Our ministry to Ney and Farmer. They are examples to the kids on how to worship, how to behave, etc. Jesus uses even the smallest of children.

The role that they are in is not one they have chosen, however, they make us proud. They are good kids and we often find ourselves dwelling on more the bad times, but I'm so thankful for how Jesus is using and shaping them.
