Our Farmer Church puts on a Christmas Play every year. The kids were excited this year to see what part they would have. Last year Ronnie was Joseph, but that role goes to the oldest male, so he got beat out this year by his buddy, Alex (whom he loves). So Ronnie was a shepherd. Nathaniel was a wise man for the second year and Eli got to be a donkey!(he was a sheep last year and said he prefers the sheep). They were all excited though for their 2 performances this past weekend.
This was dress rehearsal--they're looking a little rough!
The ears wouldn't stay on his donkey costume!
As you may know, our children (with the exception of Eli), are not the most outgoing. So we prep them every year and tell them that every Sunday daddy tells the people about Jesus. But that this special Sunday is their chance to tell everyone about Jesus and His Birth. It is a special privilege and an honor.
They did a great job this year. It is important to us that our children know the true meaning of Christmas, what better way to practice that than to act it out.
Paul wrote, "Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him" (2 Corinthians 2:14). Praise the Lord our kids can be leaders to Jesus.
