The Christmas Tree

It is said that in the seventh century a zealous young English missionary was the first person to use the evergreen tree as a symbol for God. Winfrid, who would later become known as Saint Boniface, used the tree as an object lesson. He taught that each point on the triangular-shaped tree represented a different Person of the Holy Trinity--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Christmas tree is a beautiful reminder of why Jesus was born in the first place -- to die for you and me.

So this year we have 3 Christmas Trees in our home. The boys received a tree from Aunt Vickie a couple of years ago and they get to decorate it however they want. This year it is green tractors and Lightening McQueen bulbs. Eli thinks it is too bright to fall asleep to, but they all seem to enjoy it.

Then we always have a big tree in the house where we will meet on Christmas morning and unwrap our presents. This year it is in our dinning room. So we have been eating breakfast in the morning with only the light from the tree. It is very pretty this year, I think we did a great job.

Last year for Christmas our Farmer and Ney Churches gave us this crock for a Christmas gift.

As you can see it has both of the churches pictured on it. It is very beautiful and we have enjoyed having it in our home and will treasure it always. So this year we decided to put a second tree in it and make it a "country decorated" tree. The picture below really doesn't do it justice, you should come visit us and check it out.

So we have decorated with our Christmas Trees. Now we can stand tall with our trees and be a witness for Jesus. our hope is that the tree will help direct our attention to the Father above. Fix your eyes on Jesus, then open your arms wide to touch others with His Spirit of love.
