One Last Christmas Post

OK, So I am once again a little behind, but I have good reason and I'll share all the fun times with you in the coming posts. But for now, I wanted to wish you one last Merry Christmas from the Adkins home. Yes it is January already, but it's never too late to reflect on Christmas.

We got a family picture taken at our Ney church a week early. It's about as good as it gets with 6 people!
I'll be honest with you, Christmas was hard this year. Finding out just days before that Ryan's cancer had returned, really took a lot out of us. It was all we could do to get ourselves together and minister to our congregations at our Christmas Eve Service. And that was after a crazy Christmas Eve. Maddie and I spent an hour or so in the ER. She was wheezing and not doing well, but seems much better and even smiled for a picture with her favorite guy!
We did manage to pull it together. We said a quick prayer as a family and asked the Lord for strength and to use us to minister. We ended up having a great Christmas Eve crowd and I really feel like the Lord answered our prayer.
We woke Christmas morning and began our day focusing on Jesus. We lit our final Advent candle and ate our Jesus' Birthday Cake. (In all the craziness, I almost forgot to make it - thanks to Nathaniel who reminded me hours before I left with Maddie to the ER)

The kids had gifts from Grandpa and Grandma Adkins under our tree and they were a big hit. Now Daddy will have some help shoveling and Maddie can continue her "Mommy in training".
The shovels got put to good use right away with the little snow that was left in our yard on Christmas Day.

We trust you had a wonderful day with Family and focusing on our Savior's Birth. Merry CHRISTmas to all!
