I'll Always Remember

The events of September 11 are such that I will never forget. As we watched this afternoon and evening as those events were replayed now some 10 year later, there were parts that I had forgotten. Small details in a very detailed and planned out attack. Our nation was attacked and I remember so vividly where I was.

I was driving to work that morning on a beautiful clear blue Mississippi morning. We lived in Jackson then and I worked in a law firm. I had my car radio on and I remember the man saying that at 8:42 (that would be 7:42 Mississippi time) a plan had crashed into the World Trade Center. I remember thinking what a terrible accident. As I entered the building and began my normal activities, I remember that things quickly shifted to anything but normal and far from an accident.

I remember huddling in a co-workers office around a small TV screen and watching the building burning and smoking and I remember seeing as the 2nd World Trade Center Tower was hit. I remember listening as reports came in that the Pentagon had been under attack. I remember seeing those towers fall and the terror on those who were running for their lives.

I remember our boss coming in and tell us all to go home and be with our families. I remember as Ron and I watched all day long and prayed for those poor innocent people, for all those emergency responders who were just doing their job. I remember doing an extended familiy count in my head - did I know anyone who would have been in NYC or even flying that morning?

Now today, 10 years later, I am again greived as we share with our boys the details of that horrific day 10 years ago. A day that I will never forget!

Do you Remember that Day?

Where were You!
