6 years

Today my baby turns 6!  Maddie Anne is an absolute Blessing and just what we needed in this family full of boys!  She makes us laugh with her quick wit and proud with her caring heart!  She is smart and kind and she is 6 today!

Happy Birthday Maddie Anne - we love you "Bigger than the Universe"!

Gentry Family

This weekend we had the Gentry Family here!  They spoke at Farmer and Ney this morning!
It took the 8 kids a few minutes to get comfortable!  But after that - they had a blast!

They had a blast together

My 4 enjoyed having them and wanted them to come back to the house after church!

Fun times with MK's and PK's!

Great Family and excited about their ministry in Mexico and how the Lord will continue to use them!

Thanks for coming Grentry's!  Hope we can see you again soon!

Worship

My babies opened our Worship Service this morning at Ney!  Eli played the piano and they both sang, "Here I Am to Worship".  They sound so much alike!  They did a fabulous job!

I love too that they are willing and excited to Worship the Lord with the gifts He has given them!  Proud Momma moment as they began our Worship Service!

A Night Away

Several months ago now, we were given a certificate for a night out!  We thought with Easter Week Services behind us, we would take advantage of some time away!

After we checked into our room - we found a nearby park.  It was a beautiful day and we wanted to take advantage of the sunshine!  The boys played basketball....

Maddie and I enjoyed the playground equipment.

We grabbed some dinner before heading back to the Inn.

Then we found the game room!

The Inn was really so pretty and rustic and very quiet - perfect for an evening get-a-way!

We ended the evening with the looney tunes!

Fun evening out with the family!

Who is that "UnMasked" Man?

Maddie wasn't sure what to think when Daddy came up from cutting the boys hair this past weekend - her question..."what did you do with my Daddy?".  She had never seen this much of Daddy's face!  She didn't like the "new look".

To be honest, I had never seen it.  In our 15 years of marriage and 2 years prior of dating he has never shaved off all his facial hair!  So it was a bit of a shock to me too!  It is growing on me, but I still prefer the mustache as opposed to nothing :)

He has gotten mixed comments.  He's not sure it will last very long, as he really doesn't like to shave, so we'll have to wait to see!

Personally I think he looks more like his brother!

So for awhile, we have a new guy around!
He's still pretty handsome, if you ask me!

Brackets

A few weeks ago we all sat down to fill out our brackets!  Even the youngest filled out a bracket!

Even having a family discussion as to what the winner might "win".  It was decided that a restaurant of their choosing would be the prize.

After many late nights and MULTIPLE really bad calls (that's all I will say about that), the end has come!  While none of us picked the National Champion, several of us had them playing Wisconsin.  But only one winner!

Congratulations Ronnie Lee III - you had the most wins in the Adkins Home for 2015!
(45 wins)

Now, lets get on to Baseball!

Random Update

Here are some random pictures from the past month!

Last  big snowfall (i hope) of the season! :)

Love these 2 - they are pretty fond of each other too!

Ronnie took this of the Farmer Sunday School class.  They made penny men to help support his trip to Honduras!

Growth - it has been HUGE around here lately!  Everyone looks like this...

like they are wearing high waters!

Nathaniel, who is obviously the biggest at 5 feet 80 pounds at his checkup late last month - had to have new shoes and jeans in the last 2 weeks!  WOW - This could get crazy!

We were pretty excited to Egged for the 2nd year in a row!
Love that we have friends who recognize the importance of Easter and the Risen Lord!

Just had to post one of these 3!  They are very excited to be able to start getting outside every day for some baseball in the side yard!  Baseball practice starts this week (although the weather might not cooperate).

I think I am caught up on the blog for now!
Hopefully not as long till I update again!

Braces

A few weeks ago (March 16th) Eli got braces.  Yes, he is young.  However, he had an adult tooth that was pushing against another adult tooth and the orthodontist said if we don't do a Phase I of braces now then he will probably loose one of those teeth!  So we begin!

Silly boy looks even bigger with braces!

He was pretty sore the first week, and we had to go back to get a wire cut after one week, but since then he has done great!
He's still pretty cute!

Arts Festival

Early last week was the Fairview Elementary Arts Festival.  I took pictures,  but just haven't gotten them on a blog post!  Better late than never!

It was Maddie's first Arts Festival and she was excited to see her Penguin on display!

We found Eli's owls too!  Pretty good little man!

Nathaniel did not want to pose by his Cherry Blossoms, but I thought he did a great job!  Lots of people around his, so the picture is not as good!

Then the music and PE teachers lead the older elementary classes in a "dance" of sorts!
Eli wasn't real thrilled to dance, but he did well. (black shirt in the front)

Nathaniel was thankful to be in the back row, but I still got a picture! (black shirt)

All 3 did well and showed some artistic ability!  :)

Easter Celebration

I am SO far behind on the blog, but I'm hoping to get caught up this week!  I think I'll start with Easter and our Holy Week Celebrations -and then go back and try to catch up!

On Wednesday we had a Tenebrae Service with our Youth!  The sanctuary was already decorated for our upcoming Good Friday Service so the setting was perfect.

On Thursday both of our churches had a Prayer Vigil.  The idea is to spend time in prayer during Maundy Thursday as Jesus prayed in the Garden.

Then on Good Friday we had an evening service with a darkened sanctuary as we considered the curse and the nail and our part in Jesus death on the cross.

Then Easter morning, we were busy.  Our family began at 7:30 Sunrise Service followed by breakfast and then our typical Sunday routine of 2 churches.  In the busyness of the morning, I didn't get any family pictures!  Little frustrated by that, but I guess it can't be helped!

After our services, we had my parents and grandparents over for dinner.  Fun day with family and worshiping the Risen Lord!
