BIG decision

Last night this beautiful little gal and I had a serious conversation.  It began as I was getting her ready for bed.  She has been practicing a song that she will sing for Panpa and Grandma's church soon and she was asking about the words.

"Momma, how can I change the world?"

That one question led to many more and a fun conversation about how Jesus wants to live in our hearts and change us so that we can change others for Him.  We talked about how Jesus sent his son to die for us (our F verse - John 3:16) and how when we ask Him into our hearts then He comes in and helps us daily.  We can live for Him.  AND we get to live in Heaven with Him when we die!

Before long she was ready to pray.  She prayed, then we talked a little more and I asked some questions to make sure she understood what she was doing.  Then I led her in a prayer to admit her sins and asks Jesus to forgive her and come and live in her heart!

Maddie is now a child of the KING of KINGS!

So proud of my little gal and her BIG decision for Jesus!
The BIGGEST and BEST decision she will EVER make!

Girls Night

Do these 2 look related?
HA  I love this girl!

We were pretty excited last week to get to go to a Girls Night Out (mother/daughter) event for church.

The theme this year was "Sweet on God" and there were lots of sweets to enjoy!

Maddie enjoy seeing lots of friends!

We had a fun evening together!  I just love being Momma to this princess!

Tree Cutting

Last evening we had a crew from our Ney church come and help us out!

This was a crew of 4 men, 4 chain saws, 2 boys, a ladder and a rope (and then our crew here too)!
They got to work on patching a hole in the side of the house then started on this tree!

This is a pear tree that is right outside my kitchen window and has been rotten for some time.  In wind storms it is pretty scary as we wonder if it will go into the garage or the house!
No need to worry anymore!

If you look close you can see how much of it was rotten!  Scary!

Love this little man and how good of a worker he is!

Tough boys!

In a short while they had the whole thing cleaned up and we no longer have to worry about which way the wind will blow the tree!  it is gone!

Willing hard workers - love it!

Week One Wrap Up

Our first week of Baseball this year is down and ended with 3 wins and an unfinished game!  Not a bad start!

Eli's Pee Wee team won their first 2 games and did pretty well!  Eli enjoyed it!

Then on Friday night the Minor league ("brothers") team was to play.  Just before we walked out the door I thought I should check my email.  Turns out to be a good thing.  A parent had emailed and one of our boys had broken his arm.  He's out for several weeks.  We already had 1 boy who was going to be gone for Friday's game, so now we needed a second replacement.  I was worried, but Eli was "called up".  He is VERY young for this league, but we didn't have much choice with only minutes until game time and down one player!  My last instruction was, don't get hit, especially in the head!

Why I said that, I don't know!
He got up to bat and of course... "Took one for the team", right in the helmet!

He was OK, but it didn't do good for my heart!
He was so excited he got on base both time up to bat!

Nathaniel started out the night on the mound!  He did well until he faced his best friend, Kolton!  He allowed one hit in the 2 innings he pitched (it was to Kolton).  :)

The game ended up being called at the top of the 3rd inning.  Not sure when we will finish, but it was a nasty hail, thunderstorm that came through.

So the minor boys won their first game and didn't finish their second!

This week there are 2 minor games and 1 pee wee!  Maddie and I will miss some due to Mother/Daughter banquet and a discipleship meeting.

We're for sure off to a good start in the Adkins home as far as Baseball goes!

Field Trip

Today I got to go with Eli's class to Science Central in Ft Wayne!
We had a fun time!  I love this little guy!

Here he is getting ready to go down the big 2 story slide.  He didn't really like it too much because the lab coat they had him wear pulled up and he got a burn on his back - not a fun way to start, but he shook it off and we were on to the next thing!

You can't really tell, but here he is at the end!

This is the group I was assigned.  I knew all but one of them, which made it fun!  And they are good kids.  We had fun together!

Eli was excited to ride the bike that was a story up in the air, but then his legs weren't long enough to push the pedals around.  Luckily I snapped the picture because then the guy had to pull him back.  He was disappointed.  He really wanted to go all the way around!

Mrs. Meyer's 1st grade class!

Eli loves his teacher, Mrs. Meyer!

We had a fun time together.
It was fun hanging out with my little man today!
Love days like these!

Eli's 1st Game

Eli's 1st game was last night!
He played 2nd, 3rd and right field and did a great job.
He batted both left and right and got singles every time up to bat!
He is so fun to watch because you can tell he is having so much fun!

Eli may not have the raw talent of his big brothers, but he has baseball smarts!  He knows what to do when, it's just letting his body catch up to his brain!

He got on base every time he batted!

He's excited for a good season!

Baseball Officially Underway

Officially we are underway!
Ronnie and Nathaniel had their first game last night!  Eli was Bat Boy, but has his first game tonight!  Daddy is coaching both (never again, but we're in it for this year).  Maddie and I are the boys biggest fans!  I hope she still is after 2 months of games, that is yet to be determined!

They had their opening day in Saturday while I was away at the Summit, but a friend took a few really good pics!

He's honestly not that into the game, but he is so stinkin' cute and has such a good attitude!  I think it's just the social part of it he loves.

Maddie was ready last night with her new "Madison" cup and her t-shirt!  I'm just thankful the little 1 yo that we babysit came and sat beside us!  Perfect!  Maddie had company and I could watch the game!

Nathaniel and Ronnie both struggled a bit at batting.  The whole team did.  They were use to faster pitching and that threw them a bit, but  they did well!  Ronnie did so well in fact that his 3rd time up to bat he went left (he's a switch hitter) and nailed it down the 1st baseline.  So far out that he was able to round the bases - GRAND SLAM!  That's the way to start the year!

Ronnie was our lead off pitcher last night and had 5 strike outs in the first 2 innings.  2 batters got on, one a single and one on an error.  This little man looks so confident on the mound.
Nathaniel didn't get to pitch.  He was going to close, but the game was called for time before our final inning!
They both did well and had fun!

Now tonight it's Eli's turn!  So yes, we are underway with ball season!

Amazing

I don't have pictures to document it, but I had an amazing last couple of day in Amish Country, Wilmot, Ohio!  The Inn at Amish Door was the exact location and it was beautiful.  Our group filled the little bed and breakfast and it was so neat!  The FAS Discipleship Summit was held there the last 3 days and this was my first time to attend.  It was great!  Jesus came and met with not only me, but many of the women who attended.

I was privileged to room with a dear friend and Jesus ordained our times away from the Sessions too!  It was just a sweet time!  Also attended with my mom and sister.  The 3 of us don't get to do much together anymore so it was sweet to have them there!

There is a lot going through my tired mind tonight, and so much of it I want to continue to process and allow Jesus to continue to work in my life!  I'm thankful for the opportunity to go and thankful for a great Summit!
