Last Sunday (not two days ago, but a week) Grandma Adkins came. Grandpa had to work, but she came and immediately was surrounded! These kids love their Grandma! We had asked her many many months ago if she would watch our kids last week!
Ron had been asked to speak at our Evangelical Church Pastor's and Wives Retreat! So Grandma agreed to come. It was the boys spring break, so she had all 4 for a couple of days!
I think there was a lot of snuggling. In fact, they camped out on the couches and watched movies and ate popcorn, they made cupcakes and played outside (although not quite as good of weather as the week before). They had a blast together.
Thanks Grandma for coming and spending time with the kids!
Ron and I went to Dayton! As I mentioned, he was asked to speak for a retreat and we were able to go together! I honestly wasn't sure how much time we would really get together, with him being the speaker, but the Lord allowed us time and we are truly blessed!
Troy and Gloria would be those college friends turned lifelong Seminary friends. Troy and Ron graduated together in May of 2000. But before their graduation, all 4 of us (with my sister) went to MS to find a place to live! Ron and I were married and headed to MS in June, but we returned a few weeks later to attend Troy and Gloria's wedding and then welcomed them to our trailer court a month later - Jesus provided for us in amazing ways during those years as neighbors! Ours is for sure a lifelong friendship! We love spending time with them!
Bryan and Kara are another great couple that we enjoy spending time with. I joke with the boys that Bryan is my "first" son. When we were in MS Bryan was a single guy, who on many occasions would come over for a meal or to use our washing machine or a even a lesson on cooking - (although I think that was just for the meal!) Bryan and I also worked together in Jackson, MS and his older brother and he grew up with Ron! So those ties go way back. We have only recently been able to get to know his wife Kara. They are great together and it is fun to spend time with them. They also announced last week that they are expecting - what excitement! We hope that next time Kara will be feeling a little better, but we had a blast spending time with them! Bryan and Kara are pastoring in Shiloh, Ohio.

I have an amazing husband and I am very proud to be his wife. He did a great job with the retreat and I think challenged people in new ways!
Additionally we were able to relax a bit with friends. I've always heard that the friends you make in college are the ones that you have for lifetime. I'm not so sure about that, but our Seminary Friends - those are lifelong friendships!

Jeff and Andrea came to MS toward the end of our 4 years there, but we had connections with them before they came. Jeff's brother had been there through our Seminary time and it was easy to welcome Jeff and Andrea to Mississippi! They are a great couple who love the Lord and are serving Him in a church plant in Kendalville, Indiana! There are always laughs with Jeff and Andrea around!
