Honduras Mission Team

 4 Weeks ago we (Ron, Ronnie and I) returned from Honduras.  It was Ronnie's first Missions trip and we wanted to take him together!  Ron and I have both been to Honduras 3 other times, and both of our first trips were with Gary Knox.  We were excited to take our oldest on his first trip and for Gary to lead it.  However, we also took 7 other people from Ney and Farmer.

 

We had a fabulous trip and the memories will last a lifetime!

 

I'll share some with pictures!

 

It was Ronnie's first time to fly - he loved it!

 

Our team from Farmer/Ney in the airport in Detroit!  We had a great group and the Lord used them in wonderful ways!

 

 

Our main "project" was a VBS in a remote village.  We traveled 45 minutes every morning to put on a VBS for a group of about 35 kids!  It was so much fun!  We would share a story and act it out, then we had the kids act it out too.  We then would divide the kids up and half would do crafts and half to games! 

I was inside with the crafts most of the week, so I didn't get many games pictures, but I captured my guys helping the little ones of the VBS!

 

One day we didn't have all we needed for our craft!  So Ronnie, Ron and Santos got to work making sticks .

 

 

Then I also got a shot of Ronnie playing soccer with some boys!  He had so much fun!

 

Ron made some buddies too!

Ronnie got into the tradition.  He drank his pop from a bag!

Ronnie also got into some OSU vs. Purdue battles with Mr. Dan!  They had so much fun teasing each other.

 

 

The picture below is of Kelsie and Ronnie with Santos, our bus driver.  Santos has 6 kids and lost his wife about 16 years ago.  His roof is falling in and he didn't have food to  feed his family, but you never would have guessed it.  He greeted us every morning with a smile and such a sweet spirit!

Ronnie took a little bit, but eventually made some friends that I hope will be lifelong friendships!  Kiley made it her mission to get Ronnie to talk :)

Ronnie got to try his hand with a machete!  He loved it and brought one back too!

 

It was fun to watch Ronnie throughout the week! 

He wrote in his journal every day even if it meant staying up late!

 

Here he is posted with Osmond David - who ran to his mom and said, "there's a cowboy on campus", when he saw Ronnie!  He was such a cutie!

 

Ronnie was a hard worker too!  He liked that he got to  work with Daddy and the other guys!

Our team of 27 from 6 different states.  14 teenage girls and 3 teenage boys!  A great team lead by the most amazing leader, Gary!  The Lord handpicked each one and it was perfect!

 

 

 

Our 5 teens had a fabulous time. 

They are a great group of kids and I'm so happy we got to be a part of their first missions trip!

 

Grandma

This week the kids and I went to visit Grandma Donna.  

Her 91st birthday will be tomorrow!

We hadn't seen her in a little while.

All Stars

 All 3 boys made the All-Star teams!  Eli played 2 tournaments last week.  One was rained out before completion and the 2nd one was this past weekend.  He did well.  It's difficult at the 8U level because there are rules that they have not played all year long that are in effect for tournament play!  

He played Short Stop, 3rd and Outfield and did well though. His batting wasn't his best, but he did well - and He had fun!

This past Saturday we had 6 games in 1 day!  Talk about crazy!

But these 3 look great in their All-Star uniforms!

It was a long day and a hot humid one too, but the boys did well!  Ronnie pitched and had 6 good innings.  Nathaniel did a fantastic job in the field and Eli did well too!  All 3 boys were exhausted after a long day of games!  

Love watching them play and I hate missing their games.  

Have a feeling there will be more and more of multiple games at the same time!

Didn't get a picture of the Pee Wee All-Star team, but here is the Little League team.  The boys have played with these boys for 5 years now!  Good group of guys and fun to watch!

 

So now we have one more Little League tournament this weekend and then we can wrap up the 2015 Baseball Season!  

Next year we will add softball into the mix....let the craziness continue!

R3 and Nate - Little League

I'm behind a little, but last week was the end of the boys first year of Little League.  The season didn't end like they had hoped, but they both did fantastic!  

Both the boys really did well with pitching this year.  Ronnie has some amazing skills when it comes to pitching and I honestly don't think that is just bias!  

His batting was not his best year, but still good!  I'm proud of him.  During the final tournament game last week he faced all 10 batters in 3 innings and struck out 7 of them!  He was on!  Only 1 batter even made it to 1st :)  Excellent job on the mound!

It was fun that his Daddy coached them again too!  I love watching all 3 of them on the field!  They make a good team!

Then there is Nathaniel, who is actually one of the youngest in the whole league.  He is 10 playing in the 12U league!  And he does great!  He pitched some and dominated most nights!  But his fielding, WOW - love watching him at Short Stop!

 

 They both love the game, and love being on the field - and me...well I just love cheering them on!

We make a good team!

 

 Super proud of the boys - Now we are on to All-Stars - all 3 made the All-Stars this year!  So 2 more weeks of ball around here!

Tea Party

Maddie had a Tea Party at Ms. Cathy's today!  

She had so much fun.  They made bracelets, necklaces, decorated their hats.  Had chocolate and lemon tea (hot choc and lemonade), with little flower and heart PBJ sandwhiches.  Along with lots more!  She had a great time!

Eli's Season - Pee Wee

Eli finished his regular season tonight!  The team record was not great, but he personally had a great year with much improvement!  He became one of the team leaders and I'm so proud of him!

His team was young and 7 of them were from our churches!  Plus Daddy coached :)

 

For the tournament, he and his buddy, Elijah, got to be captains for the coin toss! 

 

He had a couple of good hits tonight and did some great fielding at Short and Second!

All around a rough season, but again, proud of his leadership!

He super excited to have made All-Star's too - so one more week of tournaments :)

Brithday Trip

On Tuesday for Ronnie's birthday we went to Detroit.  Ronnie (and Nathaniel too) are baseball fans.  Their teams is the Indians, but they really just love the game!  So we decided to take them to another ball park.  We got tickets to see the Tigers and the Reds!

We arrived early enough to watch the Reds take batting practice!  Yes, we were cheering for the Reds!

Then in the 5th we were invited to go to the "something Grille" (- totally can't think of the name of it right now) it was right along the right field line!  The boys weren't sure at first, as we walked from our seats in left field and they were trying to keep the books!

But then we got to move to the closer table and they were excited!

So a new ballpark.  

A new experience!  

A win for the Reds!  

An all around great day!  

They all 4 had a good time and we didn't get heckled too badly despite wearing some Buckeye red :)

Third Year in Double Digits

Today my little man turns 12!  Wow, that's hard to swallow!  How did that happen?

He is a very smart, hard working, Jesus loving little man that I'm sure God has BIG things planned for!  I'm excited to see as those plan unfold!

We are also excited to celebrate Ronnie Lee III today!

Happy Birthday little man, We love you!

15 years

15 years ago today Ron and I were married in Lancaster, Ohio!  A lot has happened in the last 15 years!  I am still so thankful for Ron and the wonderful husband and father he is!  Thankful for his faithfulness, love and leadership in our family!  I am blessed and looking forward to 15 more :)
